This home jersey graced the pitch during the transition from the '80s to the '90s. While Celtic began the 1989-90 season on a high note, their momentum waned in the latter half, resulting in only two victories post-New Year and a fifth-place finish. Under the guidance of Billy McNeill, the team elevated their performance the following year, finishing third. Their position secured them a spot in the UEFA Cup, thanks in part to the impressive scoring prowess of Glaswegian striker Tommy Coyne, who netted 19 goals across all competitions.
