This adidas AC Milan Home shirt from the 1990-91 season is an all-time classic.
Featuring little beyond the Trefoil logo patch to suggest it’s the work of the German supplier, this version of the first release of the then-new partnership has a European Cup patch in the crest position to celebrate the Rossoneri being continental champions and is the design that was worn, minus the iconic Mediolanum sponsor branding, in the Toyota Cup win over Olimpia.
Being worn by legends such as the Dutch trio of Frank Rijkaard, Marco van Basten and Ruud Gullit - Gullit’s number 10 is on the reverse, in slightly jarring type - it is fitting that Milan bagged that Intercontinental (in effect, world) title in this design, a piece of footballing history with few equals.
