Diego Maradona Shirts History - 1970 to 1998 #DiegoMaradona #Maradona #kitdesign

The football world was rocked last week by the passing of Diego Maradona. The Argentine legend’s death has provoked an outpouring of grief and an abundance of tribute-making, not least from those with a kit-appreciating bent.

Designer - graphic and apparel - Emre Gultekin has taken the rich subject matter of Maradona’s career to provide a beautiful history of shirts El Diego wore.

Comprising - deep breath - Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla, Newell’s Old Boys and, of course, Argentina, so many iconic styles and brands were blessed through an association with the great man’s genius.

Debates on whether or not Maradona should be classed as the Greatest of All Time will endure, but it’s certain that he was a unique character and his astonishing exploits unquestionably and fittingly came adorned with kit designs from the top table.
