This Manchester United shirt - player issue from the 1983 Charity Shield win over Liverpool - features several hallmarks of adidas design from the period.
This version of the white article - from midway through the style’s use as a United Away - includes embroidery of the crest, match details and, of course, the Trefoil-incorporating supplier’s logo, with lovely black and red trim and the Germans’ iconic shoulder-and-sleeve striping.
Also boasting a Trefoil-branded number 15 on the reverse and the famous “SHARP” sponsor wordmark, the shirt sold for £3,200 at auction.
This item was sold by Graham Budd Auctions, a specialist in sporting memorabilia.
