NY/NJ Metrostars 1998 player shirt believed to have been issued to or worn by Savarese during the 1998 MLS season. The Venezuelan was on top form this campaign, firing the Metrostars to a Conference Semifinal, scoring 14 goals in 30 appearances. He enjoyed a 3-year spell in New York, becoming an MLS All-Star in his first season. Savarese retired in 2004 after a lengthy playing career and has since moved into management, he has been head coach of Portland Timbers since 2017.
