South Korean design studio Over The Pitch have collaborated with soft-drink brand Coca-Cola - Coke - to release a collection of football kit items nodding to the 1990s.
The trendy Asian creatives’ latest tie-in sees the iconography of the American beverages behemoth - including both the unmistakable wordmarks and, at times, the ribbon/swoosh detail - overlaid on garments that bring to mind the likes of the Nike Arsenal 1996-97 shirts and oversized shellsuits such as those worn by Bora Milutinović in his time as United States coach.
Most pertinently, the red shirt, which does feature the ribbon, particularly resembles the 1996 South Korea first-choice release, and amongst the dual- or tri-toned items (the palette to choose from includes red, white and black) there is even a pair of football socks for anyone wanting to nail their thirst-quenching colours to the mast in training sessions.
