PSV launched the 2016 Heritage shirt by Umbro, which will be the last to feature Philips on the front. It is an entirely red shirt with white accents, referring to the very first PSV shirt with the Philips badge, introduced in 1982. The special kit with classical elements including the logo which the club used between 1917 and 1937, is called the PSV Heritage Kit and goes on general sale today.
The retro badge refers to the very special relationship between Philips and PSV. Phillip Cocu’s team will wear the PSV Heritage Kit in the last two games of the current campaign. PSV will honour their special bond with Philips by donning these jerseys.
Philips are also very proud of the beautiful kit. “We are proud PSV are going to wear a special Philips kit”, says Hans de Jong, CEO Philips Benelux. “It will be the last time that the name of ‘Philips’ will be displayed on the shirt before we are going to continue our sponsor relationship in a new, innovative manner. We will always be Founder and stay committed to remain a partner of ‘our’ club.”
