This adidas Soviet Union shirt - or “USSR” shirt, hence the “CCCP” - is a curio for several reasons.
Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, it’s not believed to have been worn by the football team whose kit evolution would morph into Russia’s, and the USSR and Russia wore a lot of designs in the period this release is from.
Regardless, the classic adidas branding, the very late-1980s/early-1990s base design and the hammer-and-sickle-based crest - as well as the bold initialism - make the shirt desirable as a historical artifact that straddles the line between kit and political history.
