According to Luca Meo, head of marketing at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, the goal is to establish “Think Blue” as a firm feature of the brand’s ecologically sustainable activities. An international slogan has been chosen he said, because environmental protection “knows no boundaries” and the campaign is in line with the company’s values to be innovative, valuable and responsible.
The new advertising campaign will build a bridge from the past to the future and follows the “Think Small” campaign that earned international success for the Beetle in the 1960s. According to Volkswagen, it is a symbol of the brand’s achievements and the challenges that face the industry going forward with the manufacturer hoping to lead the way.
The Think Blue campaign kicks off today with print advertisements, which will then be followed by web specials, an e-game for iPhone and iPod Touch, TV spots and brochures.
